Wildlife and pet paintings created on Buckskin with custom frames, watercolor and pencil portraits of people and animals.

Buckskin Paintings
Buckskin paintings are acrylic paintings done on tanned deer hide, also known as buckskin. The subject matter can range from wildlife, dogs, horses, birds and any other pets or animals. I construct the buckskin frame by bending tree branches into the requested size and then stretch the hide with leather strings until the buckskin is pulled tight across the branch frame. The buckskin seems to add extra life to the animals' images, almost raising them from two dimensions. Bent branch frames can be embellished with feathers, shells, beads and other assorted natural materials.
